Christian Anime Reviews: Submit

The requirements for reviews have become much more strenuous. I need reviewers who can compare the dubbed and subbed anime as well as look up prices for different formats, etc.

I'm letting you take the template and fill it out at your leisure, so that you can get more information in and research your topic a little. Please do some online research if you don't know much about either the dubbed or subbed version of your anime. With this new format, I would like reviewers to talk about the differences (pluses and minuses) of their anime in the original Japanese and dubbed English versions.

If you have read and can review the manga as well, please include it.

Know that I can and probably will send back reviews and ask for revision or clarification if I feel that something is lacking.

Steps

1. Know a lot about your subject.
2. Save the Review Template to your computer.
3. Follow the directions in your Template and fill it out thoroughly.
4. Email the edited Template with your review in it AS AN ATTACHMENT to beth.hugglebunny[AT]gmail.com with the subject "Christian Anime Review Submission."
5. Wait for me to contact you and tell you if I understood your review and think that others will as well. If not, you will be asked to work on it some more. If yes, I will post it.

Tips

Don't use a lot of Japanese terminology. Our target group doesn't know much about anime and we don't want to confuse them.

Write clearly. Get someone who has never seen the show or manga you're reviewing to read your review and tell you if they understand it.

Write to your target audience. People are here because either their kid wants to watch this anime or they're interested in it and want to know if there are any nasty surprises they should know about. Answer these questions for them: Would you recommend this for small, energetic children? Would you recommend this for teenagers? Would this be appropriate for adults? For example, in reviewing Card Captor Sakura, I noted that the English dub was very clean for kids but that the dumbing down of it would make it very boring for adults. I then recommended the Japanese version for its obvious strengths, but all this time I did not say one was better than the other. I just pointed out the strengths and flaws of each and what situation they would be best for.
