Synopsis:	A high-school girl, Tohru Honda, is an orphan. She lives 
		In a tent, has a part time job and attends school. One day, 
		while off to school, Tohru Honda comes across some zodiac 
		figurines drying on a porch, and a man steps out of the 
		house. He introduces himself as Shigure Sohma, and out 
		walks a handsome male from Tohru’s school.
	
		This person is known as the Prince of School, Yuki Sohma. 
		They walk to school together, and a Yuki fanclub gives Tohru 
		a hard time. Enter Tohru’s friends, Hanajima, Saki and 
		Uotani, Arisa. Hanajima sends out electro-poison waves. 
		Uotani used to be in a gang. 

		(You will read about their pasts later in the manga) Tohru 
		gets to meet many other members of the Sohma family and 
		finds out a terrible secret.

		When the Sohma Zodiac Members are hugged from an ‘outside’ 
		person of the opposite sex, they turn into their corresponding 
		zodiac animal. In example: Tohru hugs Yuki and Shigure. Shigure 
		was born in the Year of the Dog, Yuki in the Year of the Rat. 
		Yuki would turn into a rat, Shigure into a dog.

Age Rating:	I would say, based on some things in this anime, this is 
		One of those anime that you want to just look through and 
		decide on your own. Some people can have their children 
		listen to cursing, yet not copy it. Just watch through it.

		There IS nudity. Fansevice (Just there because nudity/sex) 
		or not, you may want to look into it.

Adult Content:	There are really not many sexual jokes here. One of the 	
		characters, Shigure, (A novelist)is repeatedly referred to 
		as a pervert, yet I cannot find anything objectionable in 
		his behavior.

		There is some nudity. Characters change from human to animal 
		and back again. When they change back ,they are naked. This is 
		cleverly censored by little puffs of smoke. You see nothing but 
		male chest. There is nudity of a female zodiac character. You 
		may find this objectionable. 

Magic:		There is magic. A curse on people. It has to deal with 
		The zodiac, which is astrology. Some consider it witchcraft.  
		This would be on Harry Potter level. There are no spells to 
		my knowledge, but there is a curse, which some will consider 
		a spell.

Overall -- What You Really Want to Know:
		SPOILERS AHEAD! THESE ARE NESESSCARY! 

		NOTE: There ARE crossdressers in this anime, if you have anything 
		against this. Both characters, Akito and Momiji are NOT homosexual. 
		Some people would think that Akito and Shigure are homosexual, 
		but they are not. I don’t want to spoil this great series, but 
		I’ll have to. Akito was raised as a man, but she is really a woman.
	
		It seems to me that none of the other characters but the ‘inside’ 
		family members know. Thus why Shigure says that Akito matters most 
		at some point in the manga. Akito also hangs constantly on a 
		character named Hatori. This caused me to think Akito was gay. 
		Feelings were not reciprocated, and I found out why. Not only does 
		Hatori love someone else, Akito is in love with Shigure. 

		As said before, there is one bisexual, which is hinted, but feelings 
		are not reciprocated. Yuki loves a girl named Machi and Hatsuharu, 
		the bisexual, is in love with Rin. Whether Hatsuharu and Rin end up 
		together, I have not a clue.

		The cleanest version you’ll have to decide for yourself. All of the 
		things in Fruits Basket is a matter or preference. I personally find 
		the anime, subbed or dubbed, and manga fairly clean the whole way 
		through. Just make sure, again, to watch and read it though and decide.

		I have not a problem with it, but can read almost anything and not be 
		bugged. There really isn’t anything wrong with Fruits Basket, and I 
		highly recommend it. It is mainstream, but tightly written with many 
		plot twists and turns. Is currently in the thirteenth volume in the US.

		There is kissing and hugging, If you don’t like it.

		There may be times in which people will fall on people of the opposite 
		sex. This is either humorous, or on a Zodiac Member.
